I have recently started a site with some fellow classmates. deprocess is the culmination of the passion of young designes looking to participate with the design world at a global level. Feel free to check out the site and it's content.
I am a recently graduated architecture student from the University of Arkansas having completed the last semester of my professional degree. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where I am the oldest of five kids. I have been enthralled with architecture since I can remember. My first experience with architectural design was when I was twelve. I designed for my parents, who at the time were house shopping, what I thought would be their “ideal” home. Upon seeing my interest in architecture my parents purchased some architectural software. This allowed me to continue to pursue my emerging passion in architecture, and that was the beginning of it all.
As an emerging architect I fervently believe in design and the moral role of architects as educators not only within the profession but also the public. Design is a part of everything we encounter, and more often than not it is poor design. Most projects are not considered as a holistic design, incorporating only the financial constraints with little consideration for the theoretical. However, the reemerging trend of the master builder, not as a dictator, but as the leader of a collaborative process between the client, engineer, and contractor, promises to return the power of design. This is where I believe architecture thrives… a place where the architect is just as involved in the design as the construction. Design and build, that is architecture.
